Wayne spent the majority of his childhood on building sites with his father who owned his own construction company in Wanaka, NZ.
At 17 years of age, Wayne joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force and became a qualified aircraft engineer. He thoroughly enjoyed these years travelling the world whilst maintaining Iroquois helicopters, C130 Hercules, and Boeing 727 aircraft.
At the age of 25 however, Wayne decided he wanted to pursue a career in building. He then completed his building apprenticeship in his home town of Wanaka, with his father, on high end residential builds.
Since 2005, Wayne has grown a small yet successful residential construction company with a reputation for producing an extremely high quality product. Wayne has found that his aircraft engineering experience has given him a distinct advantage when it comes to the construction industry and in particular, building Certified Passive Homes.
Wayne is actively involved within the New Zealand Passive House community where he often communicates with designers to help find economical solutions to achieve the higher performance requirements around New Zealand's construction methods and using readily available materials.
